Oshman, Beverly Named Leopards of the Week
Oshman helped men's volleyball clinch a spot in the NCAA Tournament Semifinal, while Beverly hit .500 for the week with three multi-hit performances.
BOSTON, Mass. – Men's volleyball junior Hunter Oshman (Pennington, N.J.) and senior Briana Beverly (Pawcatuck, Conn.) of the softball team were named Wentworth Institute of Technology Leopards of the Week.
Oshman competed in two matches for the Leopards last week, as the men's volleyball team won its NCAA Tournament first and second round matchups against St. John Fisher College and Rutgers University-Newark to advance to the NCAA Tournament Semifinal. In the two matches, Oshman had 20 kills, nine digs, seven blocks, and three aces. Oshman had six kills in the match-clinching fourth set against Rutgers-Newark, as the Leopards advanced to the NCAA Tournament Semifinal for the first time since 2017. The Leopards compete against Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis. in the NCAA Tournament Semifinal Friday, April 22 at 8:30 p.m. EST.
Beverly played in all four games for softball last week, as the team went 4-0 to improve to 20-8 on the season and 8-2 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play. The senior went 9-for-18 in the four games, batting .500 and recording three multi-hit games. She had three extra-base hits, five RBI, and scored eight runs on the week. Softball returns to the field Saturday, April 23 in a conference doubleheader at Suffolk University. Game times are scheduled for 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
