Baseball Notches First-Ever ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award
Leopards claim first-ever accolade from the ABCA behind a 3.37 cumulative GPA as a team in the classroom
GREENSBORO, S.C. – The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) recently announced its annual Team Academic Excellence Award winners, presented by Sports Attack. The award recognizes ABCA member teams from all levels of high school and collegiate baseball that achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the 2024-25 academic year. This year, more than 440 college programs and 300 high school programs were recognized for their outstanding academic achievement.
For the first time in program history, the Wentworth Institute of Technology baseball team claimed the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award. The Leopards earned the honor after posting a 3.37 cumulative GPA as a team.
