WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology baseball team battled hard but ultimately fell 1-0 to the Hartford Hawks on Tuesday afternoon. Alec Peruzzi threw 7.0 innings with four strikeouts, allowing just five hits. Cyle Archer tallied two hits while Josh Turcotte and Matthew Favazzo each recorded one hit.
HOW IT HAPPENED

- Peruzzi struck out two hitters in the second inning and Archer recorded his second hit of the afternoon in the top of the third but was left stranded again.
- Favazzo had a hit and Christian Roncal drew a walk in the fourth, but the Leopards could not bring the opening run across. Peruzzi recorded another strikeout in a 1-2-3 frame to move the game to the fifth.
- Neither side could break the deadlock, and Peruzzi tallied another strikeout through six innings. Joseph Sinibaldi took over on the mound for the bottom of the eighth innings as Peruzzi exited the game with four strikeouts and no runs allowed.
- Tommy Crowley came in for Sinibaldi with a runner on second before the Hawks got on the board behind Cameron Boardman's RBI single to center. Hartford held a 1-0 lead heading into the ninth.
