Baseball Tripped Up By Rhode Island College
Cyle Archer and John Golebieski each tally 2 hits; Archer adds 1 RBI and 1 stolen base

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology baseball team fell 6-2 to the Rhode Island College Anchormen on Wednesday afternoon. Cyle Archer went 2-5 with one run and one RBI. John Golebieski went 2-4 with one run. Lukas Porier added one hit and one RBI while Chase Carder and Jack Titley each tallied two strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Anchormen took the lead in the bottom of the first behind CJ Almagno's sacrifice fly. An RBI single from Jace Wolfradt gave the hosts a 2-0 lead through one inning.
- Jake Novak brought in two runs with a single up the middle in the third inning as RIC took a 4-0 lead. The hosts pushed the advantage to 5-0 in the fourth inning after Aiden Bolwell's sacrifice fly.
- The Leopards got on the board in the fifth inning after Porier singled to right field to bring Archer in to make it a 5-1 game.
- RIC tacked on another run in the bottom of the seventh inning after an RBI double from George Threats, making it 6-1 to the hosts.
- Archer drove in a run for Wentworth in the top of the ninth inning with an RBI single to center field to make it 6-2. The Leopards left runners stranded and the Anchormen took the victory.
THE SERIES
- Today was the 13th all-time meeting between the teams.
