Leopards Finish 12th at Nichols Invitational
Sophomore Nick Abaray cards an 83 to help pace Wentworth's 345 team score
WORCESTER, Mass. – Sophomore Nick Abaray (Acushnet, Mass.) shot an 83 to finish tied for 33rd overall and helped the Wentworth golf team card a 345, which placed the Leopards 12th at the 2010 Bison Fall Invitational. The event, which featured 13 teams, was played at the Par 72, 6483-yard Green Hill Country Club in Worcester.
The Leopards' team score finished 37 strokes behind tournament co-champions Holy Cross and Worcester State, which each ended with a 308. Wentworth was 15 shots behind 11th-place Tufts, which carded a 330 on the day.
Sophomore Eric Anderson (Abington, Mass.) finished tied for 53rd with an 86 and was closely followed by classmate John Romanelli's (Acushnet, Mass.) 87, which tied him for 55th. Freshman Jose Armenteros (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) finished in 57th place after shooting an 89. Sophomore Anthony Bisceglia (Holden, Mass.) also competed for the Leopards.
Wentworth will next compete on Sunday, October 17, at the UMass Dartmouth Fall Invitational, before competing in the 76th Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championships on October 18-19.
