Golf Team Wraps Up 2010-11 Season
Sophomores John Romanelli and Nick Abaray tie for 34th with a two-day total of 163 as the Leopards finish 18th
CRANSTON, R.I. – Sophomores John Romanelli (Acushnet, Mass.) and Nick Abaray (Acushnet, Mass.) each fired a two-day total of 163 as the Leopard golf team concluded the 2010-11 season at the Wildcat Spring Invitational, hosted by Johnson & Wales at the Cranston Country Club. Wentworth shot a two-day total of 703 (349-354) to finish in 18th place.
Romanelli and Abaray each finished the first day with an 82 and took a stroke off their scores in today's second round by shooting an 81 each. The 163 tied them for 34th overall in the 94-player field.
Freshman Dylan Powers (Amesbury, Mass.) carded a 174 (86-88), while senior Chad Carr (Oneonta, N.Y.) finished with a two-round total of 203.
Wentworth's total of 703 placed the Leopards 83 shots behind tournament champion Salem State, which shot a 620. The Vikings placed three golfers in the top 15.
