Golf Finishes Fourth at Nichols
Leopards fire a 338 in quad match at Nichols; freshman Dante Christofori cards a 77 in his first collegiate match
DUDLEY, Mass. - The Anna Maria golf team edged out host Nichols College by two strokes in a quad match at Dudley Hill Golf Course Tuesday afternoon. The AMCATS carded a 310, which was two strokes better than the host Bison's 312. Becker shot a 332, while Wentworth finished with a 338.
Anna Maria was led by Chris Gosselin (Auburn, Mass.), who broke a tie at four-over with the Bison's Zach Kohn (Hartland, Wis.) with a par on the first handicap hole to take top honors.
Wentworth was led by freshman Dante Christofori (Springfield, Mass.) who shot a 77, tying him for third in the 20-player field. Classmate Robbie Wells Rogers (Colchester, Vt.) finished a stroke behind, tying for sixth with a 78.
Junior Kyle Nadeau (Chicopee, Mass.) carded a 90 on the day, while freshman Joe Piggott (Easton, Pa.) rounded out Wentworth's scorers with a 93.
The Leopards are back in action this weekend at the ECAC Division III New England Championship in Hampden, Mass.
