Dumais Leads Golf's CNE Postseason Accolades
Jon Dumais named All-CNE for his performance at the conference championship; Ryan Vincent selected as the Leopards' rep on the Community Service Team
BEVERLY, Mass. – After finishing as one of the top golfers at the Conference of New England Championship, Jon Dumais of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's golf team was named to the All-CNE Third Team, as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon. In addition to Dumais' individual honor, Ryan Vincent was selected as the Leopards' representative on the CNE Community Service Team.
Dumais, one of two rookies on the Leopards, led the team at the CNE Championship with a 154, carding a career-low 77 (+7 from par) on each of the two days. The Dover, N.H. native's performance at the conference finale mirrored much of his work during the regular season, holding an average stroke rate of 81.1, in which he was the Leopards' medalist once and was among the team's top-three finishers four times outside of his CNE Championship performance.
Vincent claims the Black & Gold's spot on the CNE Community Service Team. The sophomore volunteers much of his time at golf clinics throughout Southern Massachusetts, teaching young kids the fundamentals of chipping and putting while eventually focusing on their full swing. Additionally, Vincent helps out at the Boys and Girls Club of Southern Massachusetts doing much of the same, preparing kids for play on a full-sized course.
The Leopards pick their schedule back up in the spring.
