Madadi Paces Golf in Season-Opening Tournament
Milaad Madadi shot an even-par 72 to tie for fifth at the weather shortened George Cangero Invitational, where the Leopards placed ninth
EAST MEADOW, N.Y. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team opened the 2025-2026 campaign this past weekend by competing at the Fourth Annual George Cangero Invitational at the par 72, 6,932-yard Eisenhower Park Golf Course.
The event was scheduled for 36 holes over two days, however, Mother Nature had different ideas. Play was suspended in the middle of Saturday's first round, with teams returning to the course later in the day to attempt to complete the first round. More weather woes and darkness prohibited completion of the round, which was completed Sunday morning. More weather forced the cancelation of Sunday's second round.
Wentworth finished ninth, carding a 313. The Leopards were just three strokes behind eighth-place North Carolina Wesleyan and nine strokes outside of the top five.
