Golf Competes at Conference of New England Championships
Leopards tie for seventh over the two-day event; Garrett Kendall finishes 11th to earn All-CNE honors
BLOOMFIELD, Conn. – Garrett Kendall finished in 11th place, shooting a two-day total of 152 to help the Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team to a tie for seventh place at the 2025 Conference of New England Golf Championships.
The Leopards shot a 642 on the par 72 Tumble Brook Country Club, missing out on being in the top five by five strokes. Host Hartford captured its first CNE championship and automatic bid to the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships in May, shot a 593. Endicott (604) and Western New England (609) rounded out the top three. Western New England's Derek Johnson shot a -8 (136) to earn medalist and CNE Player of the Year honors.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Kendall was in third place after day one, shooting a +1, 73, and followed that with a 79 on Sunday. For his efforts, he will be named Third Team All-CNE when the all-conference teams are announced later this week. Kendall had a pair of birdies on Saturday.
- Jon Dumais had an impressive rise on Sunday, climbing 13 spots up the leaderboard after a 77. He finished tied for 20th with a 159. After recording two birdies on Saturday, Dumais had four birdies during Sunday's second round.
- Milaad Madadi tied for 29th after he shot a 162 (81-82). Madadi totaled three birdies on the weekend.
- Ethan Lackner finished 41st with a 169 (85-84).
- Ryan Vincent tied for 43rd after carding a 177 (92-85). He had a pair of birdies on Sunday.
