BOSTON, Mass. – After finishing as one of the top golfers at the Conference of New England Championship, Garrett Kendall of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's golf team was named to the All-CNE Third Team, as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon. In addition to Kendall's individual honor, Ethan Lackner was selected as the Leopards' representative on the CNE Community Service Team.
Kendall continued his solid play at the CNE Championship, finishing with a two-round total of 152, which was eight over par. His 152 placed him 11th in the field. Included in that total was a 73 on day one, which placed him third on the leaderboard. In eight rounds this season, Kendall is averaging 74.6 strokes per round and his average score relative to par is four. Twice he has been the medalist of an event Wentworth has competed in, including winning on the second playoff hole at the Battle for Boston on September 19.
Lackner, a captain of the Leopards, picks up Wentworth's spot on the CNE Community Service Team. He is an active member of Wentworth's Student-Athlete Advisory Council, serving as a leading member of the events group on SAAC. Additionally, he is very active in his hometown church, the Congregational Church of Putnam (Conn.), taking time to volunteer serving meals to the community.
