Alex Peck and Kevin Crowe each honored by the ECAC Northeast for the second time this season after helping the Leopards post a 3-0 record
CENTERVILLE, Mass. – A pair of Wentworth hockey players who helped the Leopards to a 3-0 week have been honored by the ECAC Northeast with weekly awards. Freshman goalie Alex Peck (Kirkland, Que.) earned ECAC Northeast Goalie of the Week honors, while classmate Kevin Crowe (Galloway, N.J.) earned rookie of the week honors.
Peck, who was honored as the league's top goalie in the final release of the 2011 calendar year, picked up where he left off as he earned two of the Leopards' three wins, 5-2 and 3-1, at Plymouth State. Playing all 120 minutes Peck posted a 1.50 goals against average and a .936 save percentage, making 45 saves on 48 shots. In five games Peck has a 3-1-1 record with a .938 save percentage and a 1.58 goals against average.
Crowe picked up his second league rookie of the week honor after recording a three-point (two goals, one assist) week. He began the week by netting the game-winning marker with 1:33 left in overtime in a 3-2 win over Bowdoin and helped the Black & gold to a pair of wins at Plymouth State by scoring a goal and an assist in the two-game set. Crowe has played in all 14 of Wentworth's games and has scored 10 points, coming on six goals and four assists. Three of his goals have come on the power play.
Winners of three in a row, Wentworth sits at 9-4-1 overall and resumes ECAC Northeast play Friday night at Becker.
