Obssuth Earns CCC Player of the Week Honors
Junior Kevin Obssuth factored in all five of the Leopards' goals in a weekend split with Nichols
BOSTON, Mass. – Junior forward Kevin Obssuth (Chester, N.J.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology ice hockey team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week. Obssuth earns the honor for games played from November 29-December 5.
In a 1-1 week for the Leopards, Obssuth factored in all five of Wentworth's goals, scoring four goals and assisting on a fifth. He scored two goals in the Black & Gold's 6-2 loss at Nichols Friday night and followed that up with two goals and an assist in Wentworth's 3-0 win over the Bison on Saturday. His first goal held up as the game-winning tally while his assist came on an empty-net goal which sealed the win. Two of his four goals on the week came on the power play.
Obssuth presently leads the Leopards in goals (seven), assists (nine), and points (16) and he has scored 10 points (seven goals, three assists) in Wentworth's last five games. His 16 points presently lead the CCC, while he ranks second in goals and third in assists.
Wentworth closes out first semester play on Saturday when the Leopards host nationally ranked University of New England at 5:00 p.m.
