Men's Lacrosse Overpowers Gordon
Leopards use a 10-0 run in the first and second quarters to erase an early deficit and take a 16-6 win over the Fighting Scots

WENHAM, Mass. – Erik Vogt scored eight points coming on five goals and three assists as the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team pulled away from Gordon, 16-6, in a Conference of New England contest Friday afternoon.
With the win the Leopards improve to 12-4 overall and 5-2 in CNE play. The Fighting Scots fall to 1-10 (0-7).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Vogt got the scoring going as he tallied a man-up goal with 8:16 left in the opening stanza. However, Gordon came back with two goals in a span of just five seconds as Nicholas Flemmi scored with 7:35 left and, off the ensuing draw, Caden Lake found the back of the net.
- Richard Roy scored with 6:32 left and started a 10-0 run that spanned deep into the second quarter. Vogt Kobi Buffa, and Drew Bouey each scored a pair of goals during this stretch, while Roy, Dryden Fisher, Tyler Longo, and Jake Caraluzzi each scored one time. Gordon's Ryan Arthur stopped the run with a goal with 3:28 left, however, Vogt scored with 32 seconds left in the half to give the Leopards a 12-3 lead.
- The third quarter was all Wentworth as Buffa scored from Vogt with 7:43 left in the quarter and Vogt set up Bouley for a man-up goal with 45 seconds left.
- Arthur scored twice in a span of 31 seconds to open the fourth quarter (9:46, 9:15) and William McCormick scored with 7:29 left, making it 14-6. Vogt (4:37) and a man-up goal from Kaj Yagoda (3:34) completed the scoring for the Black & Gold.
- Buffa scored three goals and added an assist while Bouley scored three times for the Leopards. Tyler Long added a goal and two assists. Brendan Kroll scooped up six ground balls while Vogt and Jake Rocchio caused three turnovers apiece.
- Tom Gardner made seven saves over the first three quarters of play. Riley Abbott (two saves) and A.J. Smith (one save) also saw action for Wentworth.
- The Leopards had a 59-27 shot advantage and a 47-31 edge in ground balls. The Leopards were near perfect in clearing attempts (18-for-19) and on man-up situations (4-for-5).
SERIES NOTES:
- Winner of the last three series meetings, Wentworth has a 17-9 all-time series edge.
