Erik Vogt earns weekly national recognition for first time in his career; senior attack totaled 12 points across wins over Hartford and Gordon
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – En route to capping the best regular season of his career to date, Erik Vogt of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III Team of the Week for his efforts in games played between April 14 – 20. Vogt is the first Leopard in recent history to earn national weekly recognition by the organization.
The senior potted two goals, including the overtime game-winner, and added two assists in a 10-9 win over Hartford. He followed that up with a five-goal, eight-point outing against Gordon. The Warwick, N.Y. native also scooped up five ground balls and caused three turnovers, with all three coming against the Scots.
To date, Vogt ranks second in the Conference of New England in points per game (3.88) and fourth in goals per game (2.59). The senior leads the Black & Gold in goals (44) and points (66), with both being career high marks.
Wentworth (13-4) clinched the No. 2 seed in the upcoming CNE Tournament last night and will host a semifinal matchup next Wednesday, April 30.
