Men’s Lacrosse Drops Road Contest at UNE
Gabe Cobham scored 4 goals and added 2 assists to lead the offense; Brendan Kroll scores two goals

BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team fell 12-7 in a Conference of New England matchup with the University of New England Nor'Easters on Wednesday afternoon. The Leopards fall to 5-6 this season and 1-4 in league play. Gabe Cobham scored four goals and added two assists to lead the team. AJ Smith made nine saves for the Leopards.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Nor'Easters opened the scoring 1:15 in behind Delcan Mulkerin's unassisted goal. Cobham tied the game a minute later, finishing off a pass from Tony Corrado. Stephen Fogarty restored the lead for the hosts before Corrado tallied an unassisted goal to even the score 2-2.
- UNE scored three goals in the final six minutes of the first quarter to lead 5-2 after 15 minutes.
- Brendan Kroll scored two and a half minutes into the second quarter from Cobham's assist to bring the Leopards within two. Shea Fogarty answered with a goal before Kroll tallied his second of the game, with Cobham getting the assist again, to make it a 6-4 game.
- The Nor'Easters rattled off three goals in the final five minutes of the second quarter to take a 9-4 lead into the halftime break.
- Preston Briggs made it 10-4 before Cobham scored his second goal of the game with just under four minutes to play in the third quarter. UNE led 10-5 through three.
- Cobham's hat trick goal came 90 seconds into the fourth quarter, an unassisted tally. Two goals from the hosts made it 12-6 before Cobham scored his fourth goal of the game in the final minute with Jake Caraluzzi getting the assist.
