WESTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's tennis team suffered a 7-0 setback to Colby-Sawyer in Conference of New England play on Thursday night.
With the win, the Chargers improve to 12-7 overall and 5-3 in CNE play while Wentworth sits at 5-11 (3-4).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Colby-Sawyer took the three doubles flights to take a 1-0 lead. At No. 3, Tom Kot and Liam Aguirre were defeated, 0-6. Both No. 1 and No. 2 were won 6-3 by the Chargers. At No.1, Andrew Juscamaita and Eric Doraci were defeated, while Pranav Marwaha and Rene Rodriguez fell at No. 2.
- Weete was bested at No. 4 singles, 2-6, 0-6, with Rodriguez falling, 1-6, 1-6, at No. 3. Colby-Sawyer clinched the match at No. 6 as Kot fell, 0-6, 3-6.
- Doraci suffered a 2-6, 1-6 setback at No. 5, Marwaha was defeated at No. 2, 4-6, 2-6, and Juscamaita was topped at No.1, 2-6, 3-6.
