Five from Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Collect CNE Weekly Awards
Oliver Bishop earns his second career Field Rookie of the Week honor while the 4x800M relay team of Evan McIntire, Mark Murphy, Ezra Blasko, and Dylan Brilliant also collect weekly accolade
BEVERLY, Mass. – Five members of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's outdoor track and field team earned the Black & Gold recognition from the Conference of New England in the form of weekly awards for the third straight week. Oliver Bishop was named the CNE Field Rookie of the Week for the second time this season while the Leopards' 4x800M relay squad was named the CNE Relay Team of the Week. The awards are for meets participated in between April 7 – 13.
Bishop secured his second career weekly honor after finishing second in the decathlon at the Silfen Invitational with a record-breaking performance. His 5,328 points, helped by seven of his 10 finishes being in the top-five, marked a new program best. Bishop's day was highlighted with a first place finish in the 110M hurdles.
The 4x800M relay squad of Evan McIntire, Mark Murphy, Ezra Blasko, and Dylan Brilliant earned weekly honors from the CNE after finishing first in the event with a time of 8:47.25.
The Leopards compete in the Tufts Sunshine Classic on Saturday, their final tune-up before championship season.
