Muller Wins Pole Vault at MIT Final Qualifying Meet
Nate Muller caps off his outstanding career by tying the program record and finishing first for the fifth time in eight meets this spring
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Nate Muller of the Wentworth Institute of Technology outdoor track & field team concluded his career in style, taking home first place in the pole vault at the MIT Final Qualifier Thursday night. Muller cleared a final height of 4.70M which ties the program's record.
Muller and UMass Lowell's Derek Munroe both cleared 4.70M as their final height, however, Muller only missed once at this height compared to Munroe's two misses, giving him the nod.
Muller, who earlier this month was named All-New England Division III, placed first for the fifth time this spring. His five first-place finishes came in the eight meets he competed in, including winning the Conference of New England championship on April 26. His mark tonight bested his personal best by 0.10M.
