Men's Indoor Track Competes at BU, Tufts, and Bowdoin
The Leopards pick up a pair of first-place finishes at the Tufts Cupid Challenge and set a relay program record at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational
BOSTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's indoor track & field team competed in three meets this weekend as the Leopards were at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, the Tufts Cupid Classic, and the Lynn Ruddy Invitational. Wentworth had a pair of first-place finishes and set a program record in the 4X400M relay.
HOW IT HAPPENED (DAVID HEMERY VALENTINE INVITATIONAL):
- The 4X400M relay squad of Amir Bahador, Gabriel Silva, Matt Murphy, and Jack Newton ran a time of 3:26.43 to beat the previous mark by over three seconds.
- Julian Sacca placed 11th in the shot put with a top throw of 13.47M.
HOW IT HAPPENED (TUFTS CUPID CHALLENGE):
- Jace Matthew took first in the 60M dash open with a time of 7.19.
- Ryan Ballard took home first in the 800M with a time of 1:57.75.
- In the mile, Ezra Blasko placed sixth with a time of 4:24.37.
- Dominic Simpri placed 10th in the high jump (1.87M).
- Owen Moriarty posted a seventh-place finish in the pole vault (4.61M).
- In the Heptathlon, Oliver Bishop placed sixth with 4,239 points. He notched a second-place finish in the high jump (1.82M) and a fourth-place finish in the 1000M (2:55.25) to help his cause.
HOW IT HAPPENED (LYNN RUDDY INVITATIONAL):
- Nichola Franqui had a pair of top 10 finishes as he was sixth in the weight throw (11.98M) and eighth in the shot put (11.88M).
