Blasko, Moriarty Earn All-New England Honors

BOSTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's indoor track & field team wrapped up its season at the New England Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships on Sunday. In addition to Oliver Bishop earning All-New England honors in the heptathlon on Friday, two other student-athletes – Ezra Blasko and Owen Moriarty – earned All-New England honors.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Blasko finished third overall in the 5000M with a time of 14.38.66, besting the previous mark of 14:53.11, which was set just over eight seasons ago.
- Moriarty placed fifth in the pole vault, with a top mark of 4.70M. This mark is a personal best for him.
- In addition to the two All-New England performances, Dominic Simpri broke the high jump record that stood for just over six years as his best jump of 1.90M etched his name into the record book and was good for a 13th-place finish.
- In the shot put, Julian Sacca placed 17th with a top throw of 13.76M.
- Jace Matthews also competed in the pole vault, placing 21st (4.00M).
- In the 4X800M relay, Hayden Pierce, Mark Murphy, Joey Cotta, and Dylan Brilliant placed 17th with a time of 8:33.65.
- Wentworth's 4X400M relay squad of Amir Bahador, Gabe Silva, Bishop, and Jack Newton were 24th (3:30.48).
