Men’s Track & Field Has Strong Performance at Bridgewater Invitational

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's track & field team continued their strong season with another impressive outing at the Bridgewater Invitational on Friday afternoon. Two Leopards won their respective events with several other athletes claiming top 10 finishes.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jack Newton took first in the 400m hurdles with a time of 59.12 and Jace Matthew finished first in the pole vault with a jump of 3.85m.
• Ryan Ballard ran the 1500m at the MIT Sean Collier Invite, where he finished in fifth place, setting a program record with a time of 3:49.98. 
• The 4x100m relay team of Kevin DeCollibus, William Stewart, Gabriel Silva, and Sincere Duffaut finished third with a time of 43.28.
• Nate Lowe took second in the 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 11:32.34. and Anthony Medawar placed third in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.53.
• Hayden Pierce finished seventh in the 1500m run, coming in with a time of 4:36.51 and Gabriel Silva took seventh in the 100m dash with a time of 11.31.
• Sean Giuliano placed third in the 5000m, coming in with a time of 17:14.83 and Nicholas Franqui placed sixth in the hammer throw with a throw of 38.26m.

• The Leopards head to Gordon College for the Conference of New England Championship meet on Friday and Saturday.
