Men’s Volleyball Earns First-Ever AVCA Team Academic Award
Black & Gold bring home first-ever team academic award, posting a 3.36 cumulative GPA
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) today announced its annual Team Academic Awards, sponsored by INTENT. The awards recognize both men's, women's, and beach volleyball programs across the NCAA's three divisions, NAIA, junior colleges, and high school divisions that maintain a year-long grade-point average (GPA) of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or 4.10 or higher on a 5.0 scale). A record-breaking 1,450 teams were honored by the association this year.
For the first time ever in the program's prestigious history, the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team earned the AVCA Team Academic Award. The Leopards claimed the accolade after posting a 3.36 cumulative GPA as a team.
