BEVERLY, Mass. – Following a fourth-place finish at the Conference of New England Championship on November 2, three Leopards of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's cross country team have been recognized by the CNE in the form of postseason awards, as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon. Headlining the Black & Gold's honorees is Ezra Blasko who is the first-ever Leopard to be named the conference's Rookie of the Year.
Joining Blasko in the postseason spotlight is Ryan Ballard, who was named an all-conference runner for the third-straight season, making the All-CNE Second Team. Jacob Thomas rounds out Wentworth's honorees as a member of the CNE Community Service Team.
Blasko, who ran a then-personal-best 26:01.72 at the CNE Championship to finish ninth overall, was named Wentworth's first-ever Rookie of the Year after being tabbed the CNE Rookie of the Week twice throughout the season. Blasko was also named an All-CNE Second Team honoree.
Ballard claimed his third straight all-conference nod after finishing tenth at the conference finale, logging his best time ever at the conference championship with a mark of 26:08.61.
Thomas was named as the Leopards' member of the CNE Community Service Team. Thomas serves as a team leader and volunteers much of his time at community events both on- and off-campus.
