MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Leopard softball team continued its play at the 2013 Fast Pitch Dreams Spring Classic, but were defeated by Hilbert, 8-0.
Hilbert got all the runs it would need in the first when the Hawks tallied a pair of unearned runs. An inning later, the Hawks broke the game open by scoring five times to take a 7-0 lead.
Wentworth was limited to just two hits in the game as freshman Erin McKinnon (Berlin, Conn.) and classmate Karsyn Sawyer (Chatham, N.Y.) accounted for the offense. Freshman Kate Lee (Spruce Head, Maine) picked up the loss in the circle.
The Leopards (1-3) have a pair of games on Wednesday, playing Cazenovia at 9:30 a.m. and Bay Path at 11:30 a.m.
