Igawa Earns NFCA All-Region Honors
Junior catcher Kyla Igawa named third team all-region for the second straight season
BOSTON, Mass. – Kyla Igawa of the Wentworth Institute of Technology softball team added more post-season hardware to her collection as the junior catcher Kyla Igawa was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association (NFCA) All-Region Team as a third team selection when the organization announced their 2025 all-region teams this afternoon. This marks the second straight season Igawa has been represented on the third team.
Earlier in the week, Igawa was named Second Team All-Conference of New England, marking the second straight season she has earned all-conference honors. She led the Leopards with a .366 batting average and 15 doubles, posting 45 hits and 25 RBI. Igawa posted a .988 fielding percentage defensively from behind the plate.
Through 116 games of her career, Igawa is currently tied for fourth all-time in hits with 131, third in doubles with 36, and sixth in RBI with 79.
With Igawa's all-region selection, it marks the fourth straight season the Leopards have had at least one all-region selection.
Wentworth finished the 2025 campaign with a 20-22 record, marking the fourth straight season of 20-plus wins. The Leopards also made an appearance in the CNE Tournament for the fourth straight season, finishing with a 9-9 league mark.
