Softball Earns Split Against Framingham State
The Leopards fell 10-2 in game one before bouncing back with a 4-1 win in game two to earn the split in the doubleheader
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology softball team earned a split in the Tuesday doubleheader at Framingham State. Wentworth fell 10-2 in game one before taking game two 4-1 to split the pair of games.
GAME 1: Framingham State 10, Wentworth 2 (5 inn.)
Jasmine Feliciano went 2-2 with one RBI while Kesley Medalia went 1-2 with one run and one RBI. Lauren Trostel tallied a hit and one run while Quincy Bolduc and Kaylee Habib each added one hit. Julie Malowitz fell to 2-11 this season after 1.0 inning and five earned runs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Rams took the lead in the first inning with a double from Eliza Carignan bringing in the first run and a walk brought in a second run to give the hosts led 2-0 after one. Carignan's RBI single in the second made it 3-0 before a pair of runs pushed the Rams' lead to 5-0 through two frames.
- Isabella MacDonald's single up the middle scored one and Maddie Blette's double brought in two runs and Framingham pushed their advantage to 8-0 after three innings.
- Medalia hit a triple in the fourth to score Trostel and get Wentworth on the board. Feliciano followed with a single to left to score Medalia and make it an 8-2 game.
- Carignan's two-run home run in the fifth made it 10-2 and the Rams took game one of the doubleheader.
GAME 2: Wentworth x, Framingham State x
Kyla Igawa went 2-3 with a double and one run while Feliciano went 1-2 with a double, two RBI, and one run. Quincy Bolduc added another hit to go 1-2 with one RBI and Brianna Miller and Lexi Lefkowski each scored one run. Julie Schriver threw a complete game with five strikeouts, allowing just four hits and one earned run. Schriver improves to 7-9 this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wentworth took the lead in the first inning after Miller scored on a wild pitch. Schriver threw a scoreless first and struck out two hitters in the second to keep the Leopards in front 1-0.
- Schriver recorded another strikeout in the fourth inning, keeping the Rams off the board through four frames. Framingham tied the game in the fifth behind an RBI single from Carignan.
- Igawa hit a double in the sixth to put a runner on for Wentworth before scoring as Lefkowski reached first on an error to put the Leopards up 2-1. Feliciano's double scored two runs to push Wentworth's lead to 4-1 after six innings.
- Schriver pitched well late and the defense helped hold off the Rams to give the Leopards the win in game two, earning the split in the doubleheader.

- Today was the 9th and 10th all-time meetings between the teams.
