Lauren Trostel Earns NFCA All-Region Honors
Trostel gets the nod on the NFCA All-Region II Third Team after a stellar sophomore campaign
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Lauren Trostel of the Wentworth Institute of Technology softball team earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-Region honors, as announced by the organization on Friday afternoon. The sophomore was named to the Region II Third Team in the designated player/utility position. This is Trostel's first NFCA honor of her career.
Trostel had an outstanding sophomore campaign, playing in all 40 games with a .407 batting average. She tallied 50 hits, 32 RBI, 27 runs, 16 doubles, one triple, and seven home runs. The sophomore was in the top five in the conference in hits, doubles, and home runs. Trostel also sat in the league's top 10 in RBIs, batting average, and slugging percentage while posting a .989 fielding percentage.
She adds the NFCA selection to her accolades this season after earning Conference of New England All-Conference First Team honors on May 12 and CNE Player of the Week honors on March 30. Trostel also earned CNE All-Conference Third Team honors in her freshman year.
