Women’s Basketball Falls to Endicott
Taylor Garabedian led the team with 15 points and grabbed six rebounds while Mia Luna Zayas scored 11 points.

BOSTON, Mass. – A fast start led the Endicott Gulls to a 70-39 win over the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's basketball on Saturday afternoon. Taylor Garabedian scored a team-high 15 points and grabbed six rebounds. Garabedian also tallied three assists to lead the Leopards. Mia Luna Zayas scored 11 points and grabbed five boards while Elise Ayer scored eight and had two steals.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Endicott got out to a fast start, taking an 8-0 lead midway through the first quarter. Aleah Bracey and Emma Shinney hit shots to extend the lead to 14-0 with just over three minutes to play in the first. Ayer's jumper with 3:13 left got the Leopards on the board before the Gulls pushed the lead to 18 with a minute remaining. Kailee McPhillips knocked down a jumper late as Endicott led 24-4 after 10 minutes.
- Garabedian hit two free throws in the first two minutes of the second to cut into the deficit. The Leopards held the Gulls scoreless for over five minutes in the second quarter but could not get the offense rolling to cut further into the lead. Garabedian's layup got Wentworth into double figures, but an 8-0 stretched the Endicott lead. Zayas knocked down a jumper with seconds to play as the Leopards went into the halftime break trailing 36-14.
- Bracey's three capped a 7-0 run for the Gulls to open the third. Zayas looked sharp in the third, hitting a few shots and grabbing defensive rebounds. With just under five to play in the frame, Ayer knocked down a jumper to make it 47-20. Garabedian made five free throws and two layups down the stretch but a three from Avery Brown sent Endicott into the fourth with a 56-31 lead.
- Ayer hit the Leopards' first shot on the fourth just under two minutes in. Endicott's defense stifled the Leopards who went scoreless for nearly six minutes. The Gulls maintained their advantage and came away with a 70-39 victory.
THE SERIES:
- Tonight was the 45th all-time meeting between the two teams.
