Women’s Basketball Faces Setback Against Gordon
Taylor Garabedian led the Leopards with 13 points, 16 rebounds and two assists for her sixth double double of the season. Tita Rana added six rebounds and two steals.

BOSTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology women's basketball team fell to the Gordon Fighting Scots on Saturday afternoon. Taylor Garabedian recorded her sixth double double of the season with a team-high 16 rebounds and 13 points. Garabedian also tallied a team-high two assists while Tita Rana led the Leopards with two steals and added six rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Gordon built a 9-0 lead early before Gianna Gioia's three broke the scoring drought for the Leopards. The visitors stayed in control in the opening frame, pushing their lead to 16-5 before Garabedian hit a pair of free throws. The sophomore hit another pair of free throws on the following possession to make it a 16-9 game after one.
- Mia Luna Zayas hit a three in the first minute of the second to bring Wentworth within four points. Garabedian's layup made it a two-point game two minutes into the second quarter. The Fighting Scots went on a 5-0 run to close the half and led 21-14 at the break in a low-scoring affair.
- Rana got the Leopards on the board in the second half, but Gordon's offense started to heat up as they pushed their lead to 26-18 with six and a half minutes to play I the third. Sam Monighetti was automatic from behind the arc, knocking down three threes in the third to give Gordon a commanding 46-25 lead through three.
- The visitors stayed in control in the fourth quarter with Monighetti hitting three more triples in the frame as Gordon extended the lead to 30 points. Kailee McPhillips hit two free throws to break the scoring drought but the Fighting Scots cruised to a 63-30 victory.
THE SERIES
- Tonight was the 52nd all-time meeting between the teams.
