Endicott Cruises to Victory Over Women’s Basketball
Taylor Garabedian led the Leopards with nine points and 12 rebounds while Elise Ayer added eight points and six boards.

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology women's basketball team fell to the Endicott Gulls 73-32 on Wednesday night. Taylor Garabedian grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds and led the Leopards with nine points. Elise Ayer scored eight points and had six rebounds while Mia Luna Zayas scored seven points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Endicott jumped out to an 8-0 lead while keeping the Leopards off the board. Ayer made a layup to end Wentworth's scoring drought, but the Gulls answered right away to keep the lead at eight. Tenley Wallin and Emma Shinney scored to push the Gulls' lead to 12 points at the midway mark of the first. Zayas added a bucket, but Endicott shot 55% from the field and led 21-5 after one.
- The Leopards had a better start to the second quarter with Ayer and Grace Moltenbrey hitting shots in the first minute of the frame. Wentworth went scoreless for the next three minutes while the Gulls pushed their lead to 21 points. Ayer broke the scoring drought for the Leopards, but Endicott maintained a large advantage, leading 42-13 at the half.
- Neither side got on the board in the opening two minutes of the second half before Alyssa Garabedian's layup put Endicott up by 31 points. Aleah Bracey hit two threes to extend the hosts' lead to 37 at the midway point of the third. Taylor Garabedian hit two free throws and Zayas added a triple and a layup for the Leopards in the third. Moltenbrey hit a layup in the closing seconds as Endicott took a 59-21 lead into the final frame.
- Wentworth's first points of the fourth came from Garabedian's jumper and Ayer's layup. Avery Brown and Ceilagh Harrington answered with jumpers to keep the Gulls in control as the game approached the final five minutes. Garabedian hit another pair of free throws and Kailee McPhillips hit a three in the final minutes of the game but the Gulls came away with the 73-32 victory.
