Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Western New England
Grace Del Pilar, Grace Sweet, and Sydney Vega tallied a goal apiece

BOSTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team fell to the Western New England Golden Bears on Wednesday night. Grace Del Pilar, Grace Sweet, and Sydney Vega scored the goals for the Leopards. Lily Cohen made 10 saves, and Megan Cassady made two saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Golden Bears opened the scoring with three goals in the opening seven and ahlf minutes of the game. Lina Eves scored twice and Lyndsey Bunnell added one tally. Vega's unassisted tally in the final minute made it 3-1 after one.
- Allison Cyr scored on a free position and Eves and Ella Henry added to the visitors lead to make it 6-1 with 10:50 to play in the half. Del Pilar scored an unassisted goal but a last-minute goal from Henry pushed the lead back to five at the half.
- The Leopards struggled to find a rhythm offensively while the Golden Bears added to their lead. Eves and Cyr scored in the third to stretch the visitors' advantage to 9-2 through three quarters.
- Eves and Henry combined for two early goals in the fourth quarter as the lead grew to nine. Sweet scored an unassisted goal to break the scoring drought, but Carlie Francis' tally cemented the 12-3 win for Western New England.
THE SERIES
- Today was the 13th all-time meeting between the teams.
