Women's Soccer Edged by Endicott in CNE Opener
Leopards defeated by Gulls, 2-1; Lily Carlson scores while Emily Gamboa Ordini makes a career-high 11 saves

BOSTON, Mass. – A pair of goals just over six minutes apart lifted the Endicott College women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Wentworth Institute of Technology in the Conference of New England action on Saturday afternoon.
With the win the Gulls improve to 2-4-0 and 1-1 in CNE play while the Leopards suffered their first defeat, falling to 3-1-2 (0-1).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Endicott controlled play in the first half, with a 12-1 shot advantage. Eight of the 12 shot attempts went on net, which were saves by Emily Gamboa-Ordini. Wentworth's lone shot attempt came in the 40th minute when Erin Londregan's attempt from the top of the box went over the crossbar.
- The Leopards scored on their first shot attempt of the second half to take a 1-0 lead. After a Gull foul, Brianna Reid sent a free kick from midfield towards the left of the box where Lily Carlson was alone and tipped a shot into the lower left corner. For Carlson it was her team-leading fifth marker of the season while Reid picked up her team-high fourth helped of the season.
- Endicott had a pair of shot attempts that went on net just under three minutes apart with Gamboa Ordini coming up with saves on both of them. The Gulls nearly tied the game in the 68th minute when a header off a corner kick went wide of the mark.
- A corner kick by the Gulls was batted around and eventually found the back of the net off a Leopard defender, tying the game at 1-all at 80:37. Callie Neils gave the visitors a 2-1 lead with a goal from Michelle Donahue at 86:41.
- Gamboa Ordini made a career-high 11 saves. Endicott had a 26-5 shot advantage and a 10- edge on corner kicks.
