Santos Places Second in Heptathlon at Silfen Invitational
Laci Santos placed in the top five in six out of seven events, including winning the shot put and breaking her own record in the process

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Highlighted by a second-place finish in the heptathlon, by Laci Santos, the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's outdoor track & field team competed at the Silfen Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
This was a non-scoring meet.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Santos scored 3,489 points in the event to earn her second-place finish and quality for the Division IIII New England Championship. She finished in the top five in six out of seven events, including winning the shot put with a program-record mark of 10.60M, breaking her previous mark set last weekend.
- In addition to winning the shot put, Santos placed third in the 100M hurdles (17.03), fourth in the 200 (28.15), fourth in the long jump (4.56M), and fifth in both the high jump (1.32M) and javelin (25.06M).
- Two additional program records were set in the 5000M and the 4X100M relay. Emma Schaumloffel finished 13th in the 5000M with a time of 20:26.03, while Sydney Mercadante, Selma Moutaouakkil, Lily Carlson, and Olivia Holley were 10th (54.44).
