Santos Named All-New England in the Heptathlon
Laci Santos set a program record with 3,727 points for a fourth-place finish; The 4X400M relay team also set a program record

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Laci Santos was named All-New England in the Heptathlon with a fifth-place finish as the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's outdoor track & field team competed at the Division III New England Championships this weekend.
In addition to Santos, who set a program record with 3,727 points, the Leopard 4X400M relay team set a program record.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Santos had four top-five finishes among the seven events, including winning the shot put with a mark of 10.51M). She was fourth in the 200M, setting a program record with a time of 27.40 and placed fifth in the javelin with a top throw of 27.06M and in the 100M hurdles with a time of 16.70. Additionally, she set a program record in the long jump (4.78M), which placed her ninth.
- Sydney Mercadante, Erin MacLean, Anabelle Mendez, Lily Carlson set a program-record with a time of 4:31.67, which was good for 20th place.

- Selected members of the team will compete at the NEICAAA Championships next weekend.
