Women’s Track & Field Competes at Silfen Invitational
Laci Santos took third in the Heptathlon with a score of 3721 to lead the Black & Gold

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology women's track & field team had another strong performance at the Silfen Invitational hosted by Connecticut College on Friday and Saturday. Laci Santos finished third in the Heptathlon to lead the way for the Leopards over the two-day meet.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the Heptathlon, Santos took third with a score of 3721. Santos finished in fourth place in the 100m hurdles, coming in at 16.24. She finished third in the shot put with a throw of 9.33m and took second in the 200m with a time of 27.46. Rahcel Hagerty finished sixth in the high jump with a jump of 1.34m. Santos
- Alexis Heretakis took seventh in the long jump with a final jump of 4.85m.
- Makayla Gasper finished 12th in the 800m run, coming in with a time of 2:39.24. Jordan Bennett finished 11th in the triple jump with a jump of 9.34m.
- The 4x100m relay team of Princess Nimely, Alexis Heretakis, Kirsten Alexson, and Olivia Holley came in with a time of 52.55, finishing in sixth place.
- The 4x400m relay team of Alexson, Gasper, Heretakis, and Nimely finished fourth with a time of 4:34.31.
