Women’s Track & Field Races at D3 Championships
The Black & Gold competed in the two-day event hosted by Springfield College looking to earn a spot at nationals

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology women's track & field team had competed at the New England DIII Championships hosted by Springfield College on Friday and Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Laci Santos finished second in the heptathlon with a final score of 3,978 points, setting a program record. Santos won the 200m dash with a time of 26.88, setting a program record, and finished second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.77, also a program record.
- Santos took fourth in the shot put with a throw of 10.08m and sixth in the long jump with a jump of 4.74m. She took third in the javelin with a throw of 30.66m and placed seventh in the 800m run with a time of 2:41.98.
- The 4x100m relay of Princess Nimely, Alexis Heretakis, Kirsten Alexson, and Olivia Holley placed 19th, coming in with a time of 51.84. Heretakis placed 20th in the 400m run with a time of 1:01.67.

- The Leopards will head to the Farley Inter Regional meet hosted by Williams College on Friday and Saturday.
