McLane, Zweifler Earn CNE Weekly Honors
Kate McLane (player of the week) and Amanda Zweifler (libero of the week) take home weekly conference honors for their play last week
BOSTON, Mass. – After posting a 1-1 week, a pair of Wentworth Institute of Technology women's volleyball student-athletes have been honored by the Conference of New England with weekly honors. Kate McLane earned player of the week honors while Amanda Zweifler was named libero of the week.
McLane averaged 3.89 kills per set and 0.67 blocks per set in Wentworth's two matches last week. In a 3-2 loss to Endicott, she had 18 kills and three blocks and followed that up with 17 kills and three blocks in a 3-1 win over Gordon. Over 46 sets on the season, she is averaging 3.50 kills per set, 3.71 points per set, and 1.28 digs per set. Her 161 kills are tops on the team.
For the second time this season, Zweifler earns libero of the week honors as she averaged 5.33 digs per set, served a pair of aces, and was a perfect 48-for-48 on receptions. In a 3-2 loss to Endicott, she had 22 digs and was 23-23 on receptions, while in a 3-1 win over Gordon, she had 26 digs, served a pair of aces and was 25-25 on serve receptions. On the season, she is averaging a team-high 4.52 digs and 0.48 aces per set. Her 25 aces are second-most on the team and she has a .949 reception percentage.
Wentworth is 12-4 overall and 2-1 in CNE play. The Leopards are at Suffolk on Saturday.
