Women’s Volleyball Handles Johnson & Wales to Win Fourth Straight
Olivia Vaughn recorded her 2,000th career assist as the Leopards win their fourth straight game.

BOSTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology women's volleyball team extended its win streak to four games with a victory over Johnson & Wales on Saturday afternoon. Olivia Vaughn eclipsed 2,000 career assists in Saturday's win, becoming the third player in program history to reach the mark.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Wentworth jumped out to an 8-3 lead in the opening set, forcing the Wildcats into an early timeout. An ace from Amanda Zweifler pushed the Leopards' lead to 16-6 before the Wildcats battled back as Nevaeh Arnold's kill brought the visitors within seven. The Leopards went on a 6-1 run capped off by an ace from Kate Koliopoulos to secure a 25-13 victory in set one.
- Three aces from Koliopoulos and a kill from Kate McLane gave the Leopards an early lead before the visitors fought back to make it a one-point game. Olivia Vaughn recorded her 2,000th career assist to kickstart a 16-4 run for the hosts. A kill from McLane and an ace from Vaughn set up a double block from Emma Sanders and Mika Swanson to win the second set 25-12 and Wentworth went up 2-0 in the match.
- After falling behind 9-4, an attack error and an ace from Emma Sanders brought the Leopards within three. Vivi Mansfield's kill got the Wildcats going on a 9-3 run as the visitors took a big lead in the set. Wentworth cut into the lead, but a kill from Arnold gave Johnson & Wales the 25-15 win in the third set.
- Kills from McLane and Riley Schoonmaker started a 12-2 run as the Leopards took a commanding lead in the fourth set. Trinity Ricevuto tallied three aces as the Wildcats scored six straight points to get back within four. Wentworth held on to the seven-point edge until another 6-0 run from the visitors made it a 21-18 game. McLane tallied her 16th kill of the afternoon before Kinsey Lutz delivered the final kill to make it 25-20.
- Vaughn's 33 assists and McLane 16 kills were both game highs. Koliopoulos tallied seven aces while Swanson added four blocks. Zweifler's 11 digs led the team on the afternoon.

- Today was the second all-time meeting between the two teams.
