Balanced Attack Leads Men's Lacrosse Past Plymouth State
Six student-athletes recorded multiple points, including Gabe Cobham who had three goals, as the Leopards defeated the Panthers, 10-7

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Six student-athletes recorded multiple-point games, including Gabe Cobham who had three goals as the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team topped Plymouth State, 10-7, in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon.
With the win the Leopards improve to 4-2 on the season while the Panthers fall to 3-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Just 15 seconds into the contest, Wentworth took a 1-0 lead on a goal from Tyler Longo. However, the lead was short-lived as Plymouth State tied the game 31 seconds later. The Leopards built a 3-1 lead on goals from Jake Caraluzzi (11:13) and Brendan Kroll (4:03). After the Panthers used two goals in a span of 42 seconds, Cobham gave the Black & Gold a 4-3 lead when he scored with 27 seconds left.
- A defensively played second quarter led to just one goal as Wentworth's Gavin Lawrence scored with 1:42 left in the half to make it a 5-3 game.
- The Leopards used three goals in a span of nearly three minutes in the third quarter to extend their lead to 8-3. Tony Corrado (10:15), Cobham (9:26), and Longo (8:22) each found the back of the net. However, the hosts began to chip away at the lead, scoring with 5:46 (man-up) and 4:18 left to make it 8-5.
- Cobham and Lawrence scored four minutes apart to give the Leopards some breathing room, making it a 10-5 game with 2:12 left. Plymouth State scored twice in a 10-second span to make it 10-7 with 1:49 to play, however, the Black & Gold staved off a Panther attack and ran the clock out after a Plymouth State turnover.
- Lawrence finished with two goals and an assist, with Longo scoring twice. Kroll finished with a goal and two assists, Caraluzzi had a goal and an assist, and Corrado had a goal and an assist. Lawrence also led the team with six ground balls, while Kyle Leger had three caused turnovers.
- A.J. Smith made 10 saves in the win. Wentworth had a 46-34 shot advantage and a 37-31 edge in ground balls.
SERIES NOTES:
- Today was the seventh all-time meeting between the two teams. Wentworth has won the last three meetings.
