Men’s Lacrosse Cruises to Victory Over Gordon
Brendan Kroll led the Black & Gold with two goals and five assists as the Leopards dominated Gordon for another CNE win
BOSTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team fired off 22 goals in a route of the Gordon Fighting Scots on Tuesday night. Brendan Kroll had two goals and five assists on the night. Tyler Longo added four goals while Anthony Ballestrini tallied a hat trick. Twelve Leopards got on the scoresheet in a balanced offensive effort. AJ Smith made six saves to improve to 7-6 this season. Riley Abbott made one save in the cage for the Leopards.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Chuck Urda gave the Leopards a 1-0 lead with Kroll tallying the assist. Ballestrini and Corrado scored a pair of goals in just over a minute to stretch the Leopards' lead to 3-0. Kroll added a goal of his to give the Leopards a 6-1 lead after one quarter.
- Caraluzzi's tally stretched the lead to six before Gordon got one back to make it 7-2. Cobham fired in his first goal of the night three minutes later as the lead grew to six once again. The Fighting Scots scored twice in under a minute to make it 8-4 before Corrado's goal with 2:41 made it a five-goal game. Wentworth led 9-4 at the half.
- Ballestrini and Cobham tallied a pair of goals in the first four minutes of the second half as the Leopards pushed their lead to 11-4. Gordon got two back before Longo and Urda combined for three goals, giving Wentworth a 14-6 lead.
- Ballestrini scored another goal in the final five minutes before Boden Landers found the back of the net just before time expired in the third quarter. Kroll tallied an assist on both goals.
- The Fighting Scots scored twice in the first three minutes of the fourth with Kennedy Opie and Caden Elli scoring unassisted goals. Longo added back-to-back goals to make it an 18-8 game. Opie scored for Gordon with 7:20 left in the game and that would be all the Fighting Scots would get for the remainder of the game.
- Richard Roy got on the scoresheet and Carter Jozokos added two goals in less than a minute to make it 21-9. Benjamin Tower's man-up tally in the final minute capped off a dominate performance for the Leopards.

- Today was the 27th all-time meeting between the teams.
